Including the kids in workout time
Sometimes our workout time is our own personal time. I often encourage my clients to take this time to themselves for a break, and to really focus on the task at hand.
But sometimes the kids are around. Giving them a small set of dumbbells and having them join in for a set or two is an amazing way to lead by example. Show your kids you are working on building muscle and becoming healthy.
During my fitness journey, I had little eyes on me all the time.
My girls were watching mommy become STRONG not skinny. We never use the word skinny. They would often join in for a few minutes and then jump into some crazy hangs and swings from the bar.
When my son decided to join in for workouts though, it was the most exciting and gratifying. I love the mommy/ son moments like this. As he gets older with different interests it’s nice to have fitness to do together.
